Folarin Dalley International College, Abeokuta was founded in 2001 by Late Dr. Barrister (Chief) Gbenga Dalley. It is co-educational with both day and boarding facilities. Day students who are in need of transport facility are provided. Some years ago, I surveyed the educational landscape of Nigeria and discovered that myriads of problems were derailing its development. Rather than for us to advance, we suffered backwardness. Most schools were overcrowded thus making effective teaching – learning activities very difficult. Individual attention could not be given to the learners. Behaviours could not be properly monitored by the teachers. Values were loss if at all they were taught. Thus indiscipline became the order of the day, cases of immorality, cultism, examination malpractice abounded almost everywhere an institution of learning existed. Even the primary and the secondary schools were not spared. This scenario should worry and patriotic Nigerian who cherishes the fact that sound education especially formal is the bedrock of development and for our country to get rid of the melancholic mess in which we found ourselves as a nation where almost nothing worked, our wards especially at the primary and secondary levels of education should be made to trust God, be morally upright and be academically sound.

Worried by this unwholesome situation, I had a dream of establishing schools – one a nursery/ primary and the other a secondary school where values in terms of quantity and quality in academics would be available. Even the dream of establishing a university is there. The living God will let this materialize at His time, Amen.

Some years later, the dream became a reality with the founding of Samuel Williamson Dalley (Montessori) Nursery/ Primary School and Folarin Dalley International College. Today, I am bold to say that my pupils and students are children whose parents can be proud of as far as Godliness, morality and academics are concerned. Our result in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination and in the Senior School Certificate Examination conducted by NECO respectively has been encouraging. We have been scoring 100% pass since we started presenting candidates for these examinations. Already most of our ex-students are in higher institutions of learning across the country. None has been and none would be involved in any vices by the grace of God...

Good and proper education play a great role in shaping our future and professional career, it helps us to develop personality and earn recognition and respect in the family and society. We can say that education is socially and personally an essential part of the human life. We cannot ignore the importance of education in our lives at any cost. As we see daily in the society that lots of social issues like inequality, gender discrimination, religious differences and so many problems are there because of the lack of proper education in our lives. It is obvious that standard education helps us to maintain the personal and social status in daily life.

Education is the key to solve all the social, personal and professional problems of the people, and makes us more civilized to live in the society. One cannot make his/her good image in the society and live prosperous and happy life without getting appropriate education. It makes us able to maintain the healthy surroundings, save many lives, boost economic growth, promote peace in the society, eradicate poverty, remove discrimination and inequality, promote women and children rights, bring good governance, removes corruption, create awareness about fundamental rights and many more. Good education does not mean to study hard and get good results only, however, it is to conquer new things for the betterment of whole mankind. All of these are what Dalley group of schools are inculcating into her pupils and students.

Dalley group of schools are there to give you that right knowledge that will equip you for success in life and give you the tools you need to excel by the help of the Almighty God. I am happy to announce to you that the testimonies we hear from our old students in their various tertiary institutions is that they are leaders in their various disciplines. Since 2001 till date, it has been accolades and good news from all over concerning our academic performances in the two schools. According to President Barrack Obama “the strength of a nation’s economy is inextricable linked to the strength of her education system”, thus, it is unequivocally clear that Nigeria may not witness any meaningful development without giving education its rightful place in the scheme of our national agenda.

As one of the songs my children in Samuel Williamson Dalley (Montessori) Nursery and Primary School sing “bring your children to Dalley Schools and no more problems”. This is what the visionary and founder of Dalley group of schools – Barr. Dr. (Chief) Olugbenga Oladapo Dalley believed when he got the revelation and the vision from God about moulding lives and bringing out potentials in them. He did not believe that a child can be a dullard, there can only be a dull teacher. At this juncture, I want to implore you to be a part of our success story.

Thanks and God blessed you...
